The student was allegedly knocked down by a motorist outside one of the campus gates. This as students have blockaded entrances to the institution since Monday morning. It's believed the student injured her leg and she has been taken to hospital.
Meanwhile, a number of students from all Wits university campuses have gathered at the main campus in Braamfontein ahead of a meeting with the university's executive council.
The council is expected to brief students on a way forward in terms of the proposed 10.5% tuition increase for 2016.
This follows student protests at the university since Wednesday last week. All academic activities have been suspended.

In an agreement over the weekend, Wits management agreed to suspend the proposed 10.5 % fee increment and said fresh negotiations would get underway.
