Campaign to register township businesses

Gauteng Premier David Makhura will launch a campaign on Wednesday aimed at registering 10 000 township Small, Medium and Micro-sized Enterprises (SMMEs) with a turnover of less than R1 million.

The Portfolio Committee on Higher Education and Training has applauded the decision by President Jacob Zuma to set up a task team to address funding challenges at tertiary institutions.

The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) in partnership with the Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District Municipality in the North West Province, today launched a YouthBuild programme involving 100 unemployed rural youth from Taung and surrounding villages who are being trained in plumbing and welding.

National Youth Service Task Team expanded

Deputy Minister in the Presidency for Planning Monitoring and Evaluation Youth Development and Administration, Buti Manamela has announced the expansion of the Task Team of the National Youth Service Programme (NYSP).

Business leaders need to be more courageous in ensuring that the country's wealth is transferred to more black South Africans, Minister in the Presidency Jeff Radebe said on Tuesday.

Construction at the University of Mpumalanga (UMP) is well underway with enrolment at the university set to increase to 1 550 students in 2017, said the Department of Higher Education and Training.
