Pupils graduate from maths, science programme

Written by

A total of 80 Grade 12 learners have graduated from a mathematics and physical science programme which is offered by state-owned company Denel.

The company offers mathematics and physical science to high school learners, bursaries as well as internships.

Ernest Mollele from Reiger Park Senior Secondary and Abongile Booi from the Vaal Reefs Technical School in the North West were amongst the graduates of the Denel mathematics and science programme.

They both obtained distinctions in mathematics and physical science in the 2015 final exams.

Mollele obtained eight distinctions while Booi got 100 percent in physical science and 99 percent in mathematics.

Deputy Minister of Public Enterprises Bulelani Magwanishe lauded the programme for its work.

“Like OR Tambo, who was the top maths and science learner in the old Transvaal, you represent excellence,” Deputy Minister Magwanishe said.
