The NYDA had the privilege of working under Minister Chabane’s guidance while he was Minister in the Presidency for Performance, Monitoring and Evaluation in 2009.
According to Mr Yershen Pillay, Executive Chairperson, “Minister Chabane will be remembered for his support when the National Youth Development Agency was established in 2009 where he aided the transition of the two agencies that had merged to form the NYDA.
He will be remembered also for his constant availability, advise and his great contributions on matters pertaining to the development of youth. He will be sorely missed”.
On behalf of the youth of South Africa, the NYDA sends its heartfelt condolences to the Chabane family and to the families of Sgt. Sekele and Sgt. Lentsoane who also lost their lives in the accident that claimed the life of Minister Chabane.
