Teachers’ unions commend 2020 Matric results

The South African Democratic Teachers’ Union (SADTU) says the Matric 2020 class deserves the outmost praise for enduring the most challenging year.

The Department of Social Development has extended the deadline for applications of the Early Childhood Development - Employment Stimulus Relief Fund (ECD-ESRF) to 26 February 2021.

Deaths continue to rise with 230 more people who succumbed to COVID-19 on Thursday.

ECDs called to apply for relief funding

The Department of Social Development has reiterated its call to Early Childhood Development (ECD) services to apply for relief funding that is being made available through the Presidential Employment Stimulus Package.

The Coega Development Corporation (CDC) has invited young people who have completed Grade 12 and want to improve their high school marks in the fields of maths and science to apply to the Coega Maths and Science Programme (MSP).

South Africa continues to see fewer COVID-19 cases, with deaths showing signs of slowing down, with only 78 reported in the last 24 hours.

Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga has urged parents to continue paying school fees during the COVID-19 pandemic.
